Every book is drawn in watercolour with AI image tools, from your own photos, and checked by a person.

Oliver and his family don’t exist: their photos were made with AI, so we can show a whole book without a real child’s face. The pages are unedited, straight from a real production run.

A person checks every page

Before anything is printed, one of us lays every page next to your photos. Does Oliver look like Oliver? Is Teddy wearing his red bow tie?

What parents ask us

What if it doesn’t look like us?

You’ll see the cover and the first three pages first, free. If it doesn’t look like you, don’t order and you pay nothing. Once you order, we’ll draw the rest and you’ll see the whole book; ask for a change on any page. Anything that doesn’t match your photos or what you told us, we always fix for free; a new wish can go in one free round. It goes to the printer once you’ve approved it.

How long does it take?

The first pages are usually on your screen in about 15 minutes, and you’ll get an email as soon as they’re ready. If you order, we’ll draw the rest: usually within a few hours, and within 24 hours at the latest, and we’ll email you as soon as the whole book is ready. Once you’ve approved it, it goes to the printer. After you approve the whole book, it usually arrives within 7 to 11 working days.

Where do you deliver?

To addresses in the United Kingdom, and delivery is free: it’s included in the price. After you approve the whole book, it usually arrives within 7 to 11 working days.

What happens to our photographs?

They’re used to draw your book and nothing else. They go to Google in the United States, which does the drawing and keeps what we send for up to 55 days to detect abuse, and one of us compares the drawings with the photographs before the book is printed — nobody else receives them. We never keep where a photograph was taken: that information is removed the moment it’s uploaded. Then they’re deleted automatically: 60 days after your book arrives. If you never order, they go 30 days after the preview. The whole route is on fablebook.co.uk/photos.

What age is it for?

One to about six. For the youngest, the thick layflat pages survive rather more.

Does the AI learn from our child’s face?

No. We don’t train any AI on your photos, and there’s no face profile. We draw with Google’s Gemini on a paid business account. Under those paid terms, Google doesn’t use what we send to improve its own AI.
